Ten notational study hours are equivalent to one credit (= 1 NQF credit) in the South African national credit grading system. Credits are a measurement of a student’s total learning activities, which include contact time, self-study, Work Integrated Learning (WIL) assignments, projects, and examinations. The academic calendar at universities is divided into semesters. Grades are given out at the end of each semester, which normally runs from February to June and July to December.

Can You Convert South African ECTS credits to German?

Yes, students at the Universities may apply up to 60 credit hours, or two years’ worth of transfer credits, toward a degree earned at the German University.
