The University of Wuppertal is a German scientific institution, situated in Wuppertal, in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Bergische Universität Wuppertal, or BUW, is the German name for the university. It was founded in 1972. Approximately 20,000 students were enrolled in 2014/15 in a wide range of subjects with many interdisciplinary connections across seven faculties. Wuppertal University is a German research university. It was founded in 1972 in the small town of Wuppertal, in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It offers a number of programs that are relatively uncommon among top German universities, including engineering, industrial art, and education. Admission policy of the University is based on entrance exams as well as previous marks and grades. Students from all over the world are welcome to apply for admission. Courses are available in both English and German. Griffenburg, Freudenberg, and Haspel are the three campuses. The university is good for startups and marketing, and the marketing department is very innovative for young entrepreneurs.
