TU9 is the alliance of 9 leading technically oriented universities in Germany and it was started in 2003 as an informal consortium of the Institutes of Technology in Germany which was established before 1900. Germany has always been a top place for technical education. This is because TU9 is home to world-class universities offering cutting-edge technologies and research opportunities to students from all over the world.

Nine technical universities of TU9

  1. RWTH Aachen

RWTH Aachen is a research university located in the city of Aachen. It has more than 42,000 students enrolled in its 144 courses. Because RWTH is Germany’s largest technical university the international student community at RWTH Aachen is 7000-members strong. All Bachelor’s degree courses at the RWTH Aachen University are taught in German. So you will need to provide a German language proficiency test certificate to join this university.   1. Technical University of Berlin

TU Berlin is one of the most reputed education institutes in Germany and has 7 faculties. That offer undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programs. It has around 34,000 students of which 20 percent are international students. Moreover, it has a host of notable alumni and professors. All undergraduate courses at TU Berlin are in the German language. So you will need to provide a German language proficiency test certificate.

  1. University of Braunschweig

TU Braunschweig was founded in 1745. This is one of the oldest technical universities in Germany. It has several faculties that offer 118 full and modular degree programs through its 6 departments of physical sciences, engineering natural sciences and humanities, economics, and social sciences. TU Braunschweig has a student population of more than 20,000 and international students are about 3,000 in number.

TU Dresden is one of the largest and popular technical universities. And has 18 faculties in 5 schools offering 122 courses in the departments of Information Technology, Bioengineering, Material Sciences, Biomedicine, Microelectronics as well as Energy and Environment. 13 percent of its student population of the university around 33,000 is of international origin.

This university is named after Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, the Leibniz University Hanover is a reputed public university. and has 9 faculties. These faculties offer education and research opportunities in mechanical engineering, quantum optics, biomedical research, and teachers’ training. Because the university has a good international student representation—there are around 3,000 international students among the total population of 28,000.

It has a great connection to companies and scientific institutions across the world. Moreover, it has 15 departments providing an outstanding environment to more than 40,000 students out of which 29 percent are international students. And most undergraduate courses at TUM are taught in the German language. So you will need to provide a German language proficiency test certificate.

The University of Stuttgart is one of the oldest technically oriented universities in Germany with global significance and has 10 faculties. Faculties offer highly-ranked programs in civil, mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineering. And it was established in 1829. It has been organized into 10 faculties. The group of faculty members at the university is qualified academicians and industry experts.
