About University of Potsdam

The University of Potsdam (UP), located in Berlin- Brandenburg was founded in 1991. It has an approach that extricates it from other institutions, as it brings out innovative research and training among its peers. It is home to more than 22,000 students scattered across three campuses:  Golm, Neues Palais, and Griebnitzsee. The University consists of 6 faculties namely, Human Sciences, Law, Science, Arts, Economics and Social Sciences, and Digital Engineering.

Students can take up internships either in the administration or as a research assistant; prior consultation with the department is necessary. Housing and Accommodation:

Even though several dormitories for students are available yet there are a few restrictions related to it. Dormitories are provided to students under the age of 30 and their Master’s degree must be the first one from the University of Potsdam. The basic furniture amenities that of a desk, closet, bed, and bookshelf are taken care of, however, bedding must be arranged by the students. In some cases, a separate fridge is provided! Meanwhile, the bathroom and kitchen might need to be shared in few circumstances. Apart from that several private accommodations are available that include hostels and hotels. Also, residing in an apartment with fellow mates is also a viable option.

Cost of Living

Although, most degree courses don’t have a tuition fee however an administrative fee of 304 EUR per semester must be paid. This includes a semester ticket that enables you to access public transport in and around Berlin-Brandenburg. Cost of living may vary subject to one’s personal choices, the expenditure can be found in the range of 600-850EUR depending on the type of accommodation.
