Music
Germany claims some of the most renowned composers, singers, producers, and performers in the world. Germany is the largest music market in Europe and the third-largest in the world. Germany has two very popular music-based universities that teach & provide music degrees.
First, For brilliant young people from the Middle East and North Africa, the state-recognized private university, Barenboim-Said Akademie provides a bachelor’s degree in music. The rigorous program of study also includes humanities and musicology. The academy’s faculty includes internationally famous artists. The operational expenditures are borne by the Federal Government of Germany and many scholarships are provided by Germany’s Foreign Ministry.
The Barenboim-Said Akademie holds a 99-year lease on the historic building from the City of Berlin. The academy was founded in 2016, and there are presently roughly 100 students registered, with 96% of them being international students. This academy was co-founded by conductor and pianist Daniel Barenboim and the literary theorist Edward Said.
The second is, The Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg (HFMT) which was established in 1950 under the name “State University of Music” by Annemarie Marks-Rocke and Eduard Marks’ private acting school. It is one of the largest non-private music schools in Germany. It is located in Hamburg Rotherbaum in the Außenalster, near the city center, in the famous Budge-Palais. Approximately 1300 students are presently enrolled out of which 32% are Non-EU nationalists.
Courses that are being covered here include various musical genres, including church music, jazz, pop, composition, conducting, instrumental music as well as voice. The theatre academy offers courses in drama and opera and directing in these fields. A third academy offers scientific and educational degrees and qualifications including musicology, music education, and theatre.
These two are very famous music academies in Germany, with many international students already enrolled in their various academies. So if you are looking for setting up your career in music, then considering these universities can be a good option.
