Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg was established in the year 1817. This university was created from two universities: the University of Wittenberg which was founded in the year 1502 and the University of Halle was founded in 1694. It is the largest university located in the state of Saxony-Anhalt. This university remains up to date with the latest scientific research which guarantees a high degree of flexibility. At present, more than 21000 students are studying at the university and around 1500 students are from over 110 countries. This university has 190 study programs and 18 faculties and departments.
