About Private University of Applied Sciences Göttingen (PFH)

The Private University of Applied Sciences Göttingen (PFH) is Lower Saxony’s oldest private, state-recognized university, with campuses in Göttingen and Stade. It was formed in 1994 with the goal of igniting new directions in research and education by establishing a wholly privately funded university and tailoring a curriculum to the real demands of the economy. There are now 3500 students registered, with 6% of them being international.

Göttingen is a university town in the Leine Valley in southern Lower Saxony. The University of Göttingen is nearly the center of the city’s life. This university is the oldest in Lower Saxony, having been founded in 1734 by King George II of England and the Elector of Hanover.
