About AMD Academy Fashion & Design

AMD Academy of Fashion and Design or AMD Akademie Mode & Design is a private university founded in 1989, situated in Hamburg, Germany. AMD Academy has been teaching fashion and design to creative and business-oriented professionals in the creative industry for the past 30 years. The university also has campuses in Munich, Düsseldorf, Wiesbaden, and Berlin. Since 2016, the AMD has been the only private German university member of the International Foundation of Fashion Technology Institutes (IFFTI), a global organization of leading university institutions in the fields of fa clothing technology,  fashion business, and Fashion Design as well as related industrial areas. Around 1700 students have enrolled in this university out of which 9% are international students.

The university provides internships only for one program i.e. Brand and Communication Design (BA) because it requires practice in many real projects with agencies, companies and, museums. The average cost of living in Hamburg is around 820 Euros per month.

Hamburg, a significant German port city, is located in northern Germany. Some places to visit near the university are as follows-

  1. Miniatur Wunderland – Miniatur Wunderland is the largest model train show in the world, and it is continually expanding. Trains can be seen traveling through recreations of Hamburg and the shore, as well as Austria, the Grand Canyon, and Scandinavia.
