Documents required for applying to a University of Germany
The specific documents required for applying to a University of Germany are as follows:

VISA

- A German blocked bank account deposit confirmations of €10,332 in total.
- Letter of commitment and proof of parent’s income records and financial assets.
- Scholarship certificate (if applicable)
- Letter of commitment by a German resident which is called “Verpflichtungserklärung”. This applies if a German resident is covering the course study costs.
Students need to apply for a visa as soon as possible, at least three months before moving to the country. The procedures are different from country to country. Here are some main steps students need to go through below:
- Go to the German Embassy: Students have to locate the German Embassy in their country to get more information and set up a visa appointment.

- Prepare for visa interview: Students have to pay the visa application fee of 60.00 Euro – 75.00 Euro and they should have the payment confirmation with them at the time of visa interview. This fee is non-refundable if the visa is rejected. Students should prepare themselves in advance for the interview.
Documents required to open a blocked account in Germany
Students will be able to open a Blocked Account, after their admission to a German University. Students have to be very careful with all the procedures. To open a blocked account in Germany, students have to submit the following documents:
- Application Form
- A Valid passport
- University admission letter
- A bank statement that confirms that students have the required amount of money to open a blocked account
- A prepaid fee
Students can open a German Blocked account entirely via Fintiba. Students can also open a German Blocked account at Deutsche Bank. They charge 150 Euros to create a blocked account.
Covid Pass
Before getting into Germany students should know about the quarantine rules at present in Germany. Students have to provide the following documents to enter Germany:
- A negative covid-19 test result or
- Proof of final Covid-19 vaccination or
- Proof of recovery from an infection.

Documents need to prepare after visiting Germany
Here are some steps students have to do before beginning their studies in Germany
- Find accommodation in Germany: After arriving in Germany, students have to find their permanent accommodation in Germany. They may get accommodation in a student residence, flatshare, or an apartment rented on their own. The proof of permanent address will be necessary for the future.
- Get a Health Insurance Policy: Students have to get themselves covered with a health insurance policy which is called ”Krankenversicherung” as this is the mandatory requirement for everyone living here. - Open a current bank account: The next thing students need to do is get a current bank account, with a recognized German bank (Girokonto).To open a student bank account in Germany, students will need:

- Evidence of student status (any of the following)
