The European University Viadarina Frankfurt (Oder) is a university in Frankfurt (Oder) in the German state of Brandenburg. The University of Frankfurt is another name for it (Oder). It’s a public institution that was founded in 1506, dissolved in 1811, and then reopened in 1991. The Oder River, which separates Germany and Poland, runs through the city. On the Havel River, Brandenburg a der Havel, a once significant episcopal city with substantial commercial links, is located 50 kilometers southwest of Berlin. There are three lakes around it: the Beetzsee, the Plauer See, and the Breitlingsee. The city – frequently referred to simply as Brandenburg City – is located in the same-named state and provides a variety of exciting activities, including visiting its many noteworthy tourist sites.
- Old Town Hall and Roland’s Statue: The Old Town Hall (Altstädtische Rathaus) in Brandenburg a der Havel dates from 1470 and is a beautiful two-story Late Gothic brick edifice. The stepped gable, a tower and gateway with exquisite brick tracery, and a massive pointed-arched doorway in the east gable are all notable external elements.
- City Museum: The primary exhibits of the Brandenburg a der Havel City Museum (Stadtmuseum Brandenburg) are housed in the Frey-Haus, a splendid Baroque structure with a beautiful staircase hall that was built in 1723.
- Plauer Torturm: In Brandenburg, a der Havel, large portions of the medieval city walls have survived. A handful of well-preserved gate towers also exist. The Rathenower Torturm, with its magnificent Gothic arcading; the Plauer Torturm, with its openwork crown; the Mühltorturm; and the Steintorturm, which once housed exhibits from the Brandenburg a der Havel City Museum, are among them.
