Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research – UFZ was established in the year 1991. It was founded under the name of UFZ Environmental Research Center Leipzig-Halle GmbH. Currently, this university has more than 1,100 employees on its premises in Leipzig, Halle/S, and Magdeburg. This research center is one of the world’s leading research centers in the field of environmental research with high social recognition.
