Gret Palucca, a German dancer and dance instructor, founded the Palucca University of Dance in Dresden, Germany, in 1925. Since 2006, the University has focused on equally weighting the three pillars of improvisation, contemporary/modern dance, and ballet instruction under the guidance of Prof. Jason Beechy. Palucca School was renamed the Palucca University of Dance Dresden in 2010, and it has been recognized as such since then. It is a public university with 200 students enrolled, 53% of them are international students.
