About the University of Bayreuth

The University of Bayreuth was established in 1975. This is often public research university which is situated in Bayreuth, Bavaria, Germany. As this may be a family-friendly university it attracts plenty of scholars and researchers. The campus of the university is green and compact. Places to Visit to Near University of Bayreuth

Bayreuth is situated on the Roter Main River during a valley having rolling hills around. It has numerous parks and greens that make Bayreuth an awfully green city. On the other hand, Kulmbach is the capital city of Bavaria and has majestic landscapes and historical architecture. Following are some of the sites students can visit while there:

  • Margravial Opera House: It was constructed in 1745 and 1750, it’s one of Europe’s few surviving theatres of the period and has been extensively restored. Moreover, it’s also a World Heritage Site and is a great place for students to experience opera and theatre.

  • Wahnfried: Named by Richard Wagner, it’s his villa which was constructed from 1872 to 1874. It’s an informative insight into the life of Richard Wagner and should be worth the visit.

  • Eremitage: It’s a well-tended garden with water features. Constructed in 1715 it’s also a historical museum created for parks with fountains. Students can visit the parks during their downtime.

  • Plassenburg(Kulmbach): It’s a hilltop fortress with museums & concerts and was first mentioned in 1135. The castle is one of the most impressive castles in Germany and a symbol of the city. Moreover, the students should visit the fortress to explore the architecture and enjoy the nightlife in concerts.
