The University of Kassel is a German public university in Kassel. It was established in 1971. The institution has eight campuses that house more than 23,000 students. Students are awarded 3,222 degrees. It offers expertise in a variety of topics, including technology, nature, society, and culture. The University of Kassel has contacts all over the world, and this internationalism is reflected in the university’s teaching and course offerings. For international students, the university offers a number of programs. The university has received three nominations and two Oscar nominations for their animation filmmaking.

House and Accommodation

There are two types of accommodation available that are Student halls- 16 in total and private facilities including Hostels and flats. The University of Kassel offers over 1000 apartments and rooms. Both single rooms and single apartments are available and all the rooms are completely furnished.  Two students can live in a studio-type flat.

Cost of Attendance

All applicants need to pay fees prior to the starting of each semester. The estimated average cost of living is €300/month and private accommodation fees are €600/month.

The university provides some programs in English for all international students. A total of 41 full-time courses provided to the students. And this includes 26 bachelors, 14 master as well as diploma programs. All the bachelor courses are of 3 years.

Places to visit near the University

  1. High Transformer Statue – The 10-meter by a Chinese artist is another highlight. In 2012, it was transported to Kassel for the world premiere of the film “Transformers.”
  2. “Xallo Bar.” One of the student clubs and party until dawn;
  3. Hercules Monument- It’s a spectacular sight, especially on summer evenings when the Great Fountain, waterfalls, and Hercules figure are all lit up.
  4. Wilhelmshöhe Castle Museum – It includes the magnificent Gemäldegalerie Alte Meister (Gemäldegalerie Alte Meister), which houses a great collection of Dutch Old Master paintings.
