About the University

The Humboldt University of Berlin is a government research university in the central area of Mitte in Berlin, Germany. It was instituted by Frederick William III  in 1809 and opened in 1810. It is known worldwide for establishing the Humboldtian model of higher education, which has strongly inspired other European and Western universities.
