Vistara Final Flight on November 11

Vistara Final Flight on November 11

As the much-anticipated merger between Vistara and Air India approaches, passengers are presented with a unique opportunity. With the merger expected to be finalized soon, Vistara has announced that starting September 3, passengers will no longer be able to book tickets with the airline for travel on or after November 12. Marking a Farwell to Vistara with Final Flight on November 11 .

In an official statement, Vistara declared, “Starting September 3, 2024, customers will, progressively, no longer be able to make bookings with Vistara for travel on or after November 12, 2024.” After November 11, 2024, all Vistara aircraft will be operated by Air India, and bookings for these routes will be redirected to Air India’s website. Vistara will continue to accept bookings and operate flights as usual until its final flight on November 11, 2024.

The merger gained momentum when India removed the final roadblock by authorizing a $276 million investment from Singapore Airlines Ltd into the newly merged airline. Vistara’s Chief Executive, Vinod Kannan, expressed gratitude for the support over the past 10 years and highlighted the benefits of the merger: “This merger is about offering more choice with a larger fleet and a wider network, while elevating the overall travel experience. Vistara and Air India are committed to ensuring a smooth transition and look forward to welcoming our customers again soon — as Air India.”

What Will Happen to Your ‘Club Vistara’ Points?

As a result of the merger, Vistara’s frequent flyer program, Club Vistara, will be phased out and merged with Air India’s Flying Returns program. Until the transition is complete, Club Vistara will continue its usual operations. After the merger, Singapore Airlines will hold a 25.1% stake in the newly combined Air India, investing over Rs 2,000 crore. The airline will keep customers informed with regular updates through the Vistara and Air India websites, social media channels, and email.

Will Vistara Stop Taking Bookings on September 3?

Yes, and no. Starting September 3, passengers trying to book Vistara flights for travel on or after November 12 will be redirected to the Air India website. However, Vistara will continue to allow bookings for travel dates up to November 11, 2024. After November 12, all Vistara flight numbers will change to Air India ones, although in most cases, the aircraft, schedule, and operating crew will remain the same until early 2025. Customers with existing reservations on Vistara flights after November 12 will automatically have their bookings converted to Air India flight numbers. This will occur in phases during September, with customers being individually informed when the conversion takes place.

Club Vistara and Flying Returns Integration

Once the integration of the two airlines is complete, Club Vistara will be incorporated into Air India’s frequent flyer program, Flying Returns. Customers with existing accounts in both loyalty programs can link them through Vistara’s website. If an account holder does not link their accounts before the merger, they will be automatically merged, provided key identification and contact details match. If there is a discrepancy in these details, a new Flying Returns account will be created, and Club Vistara points will be transferred to it. Members can later consolidate any duplicate Flying Returns accounts.

This significant transition marks the end of Vistara’s journey, but passengers can look forward to a broader network and enhanced travel experiences under Air India. Stay updated through the official channels as the merger progresses.
