About the University

Worms University of Applied Sciences came into existence in the year 1996. It is a non-profit public higher education university located in Worms, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. They provide their students practical and career-oriented education. Their main three academic departments are Business Administration, Tourism and Travel Management, and Computer Sciences. They have currently 3800 students enrolled in their degree programs which of them about  25% are international students.

The University offers an Internship Abroad option for students so that they can gain working experience and they can learn about the professional atmospheres and cultures of other nations. The internship offers for students are available on the Job Board at the Hochschule Worms Career Center website. Students have to check postings on the general notice board for their department and so that they can contact the Chambers of Commerce and Industry as well as German companies with offices abroad. Companies like Bosch, VW, Lufthansa, Siemens, and Schenker offer internships for students.

Housing and Accommodation

Due to a large number of students and limited accommodation offer, the university is only able to offer the accommodation service on a first-come-first-serve basis. But The International Centre of the University can assist students in finding accommodation. They mostly offer accommodations in shared flats and mostly the rooms are located near the campus. The rates for rooms are approximately 250 Euro-650 Euro per month including related costs.

Cost of Living

Even though there are no tuition fees, you will need to pay a small semester contribution of 133.50 Euro per semester and for the first semester, students have to pay 153.50 Euro. The monthly costs won’t exceed 800 Euro per month.

Places to visit near the University

Several places near Worms are really good to visit. Students can visit the places and can spend good times with friends. They can visit Worms City Museum which is one of the most beautiful buildings in the city. They can visit  The Luther Monument which is a group of bronze statues. They can visit Worms Hbf which is a beautiful German train station. Students can visit Jewish Museum in The Rashi House which has architectural reminders. Dom St. Peter, a Roman Catholic church, is also a nice place to visit. Apart from that Foundation Art Heylshof is also a mandatory visit. Students can see old paintings there.
